For example, when the piston of an engine moves up and down expanding the gas to cause a cycle, or when hamsters run in their wheel... How does that create energy? I understand how it works but I don't understand how these cycles of motion bring energy and make things work. Sorry if that didn't really make sense, but if you do get what I'm saying and have an answer I'd appreciate it.
