Now how can i transport my fishes to texas without them dieing on me, so i won't have to buy new fishes, an how am im goin to tranport my fish tank and stand too. I have tiger barbs, neon tetras, herlquins, cory cats, and gorumies. Help?

Hi,
when i have to move fish then i use bags and polystyrene boxes most petshops have them and will give them away. THey are what the professionals use to transport the fish. THen just catch and bag the fish and put them in the box and they will be kept warm. As well with this you can drain the tank, and completely empty it so its light enough to move.

you'll need a special fish bag, or something as close as you can get to it. ask for them at your nearest aquatic store.
fill the bag with around 30% water. you need lots of air in the bag so that the oxygen can pass into the water. tie the bag up with as much air trapped inside as possible and wrap an elastic band round the top.
the fish will survive i the bag in a cool shaded place for a few hours. but if you can limit it to an hour this would be best.

this is how we transport fish at my work and is proven to be the best way.

as for the tank the best way would be to have it already set up waiting for them. if not im affraid you may have to give them away before you move.
good luck with whatever you choose :)

You will probably need a few 5 gallon buckets to segregate the fish into. A 55 gal tank is too big to carry into the hotel room each night when you are moving. I took half the water out of a 10 gal. tank and moved my fish into a hotel room every night with me when I moved from CA to WI. I didn't lose any fish along the way then. You will need to keep the water aerated though when you get to the hotels. Small air pumps with a single stone on each one will work. Of course you might just be better off keeping your prized fish and giving the rest away to make the move easier.
