how do you transfer a painting onto a t-shirt or pillowcase?

Scan it to a computer. Flip the image and print it on iron-on paper (it's made for doing just that). Flipping the image is imperative otherwise it will show up backwards.
 
My son painted a picture and it means a ton to me and my whole family. Its a picture of my nephew, his cousin, going up to heaven and meeting other family members that are already there!!! How do I get this picture printed on to a t-shirt or pillow case ?
