How do you swing Bowser in Super Mario 64 (N64, not DS)?

I have been playing it, but when I pick up browser, I am unable to swing him. What button must I push/hold to swing him?

I too have the same problem, I can only swing him VERY slowly sometimes not at all with the left anolog stick... It's a HUG piss off, I have 120 stars but I can't beat the game

You have to continually rotate the control stick.
