to reconcile his actions with his? image? This is a man with a grandfatherly image ,however the textile company that he used to bankroll his investments was slowly bled dry and over 400 families (not including turnover) were put out of work. It doesn't seem like alot but 400 families is the population of many small towns. Do you suppose he made millionaires out of those people or is it more likely that gramps didn't give a rip? In fact if you are a student of grandpa Buffet you will realize almost immediately that he has left a wake of victims wide and deep. Now one might ask-How long will it be before gramps is marched up the temple steps to symbolically have his heart ripped out and shown to the crowd as an appeasement and sacrifice to the economic gods he has served? Is he just the next Barney Madolf waiting to happen? Can this process ever be stopped? Or is it correct? After all, none of us are clean in this respect -we all benefit collectively from Barney-Warren-Martha Stewart,and a seeming never ending list of Aztec sacrifices. thousands of years of human progress has apparently yielded nothing. And don't even get me started on the selective breeding programs perpetrated on United States Citizens by hollywood. Yes ,i know,it only eliminates the weak minded and easily impressed,but, a breeding program is still a breeding program (homework-check out birth and death rates according to age groups from the 50s' on, which is roughly the same time that television took hold in the good old USA.) In defeating tyranny nations very often catch the disease. Nothing that Nazi germany had discovered was worth keeping, but, at a slower more natural pace almost every discovery they made has at some level been incorporated into our nation-after all, if you can just do a cleaner job with body disposal,so as not to offend public sensibility-it would all work. I just watched a "symposiam" today that declared there wont be any more homeless in five years. God help us. The only way to end homelessness is to dispose of them.
