My roommates bought a large stereo to play in the kitchen, all night every weekend and most of the weekday nights. How would one break it without it being obvious?
cut one of the wires on the back or something. If you're doing what I think you're doing, then that will shut it up pretty good. It's worked out well for me so far. Also, you can pay someone to make it look like he broke into the house and stole the stereo... but then your roommate might call the cops... just try cutting a wire or something. Tell him "Sometimes, it gets so hot that a wire melts" or something. Make it believable. Hope this helps

dont break it but unplug the speaker and say to your roomie. I dont mind listening to some music. but could you move that to your room please we dont have room in the kitchen and im afraid cooking will damage it. unplug the speakers from the back so sound wont come out and its not really broken..
