Im trying to replace the alternator on my truck, but the serpentine belt tensioner does not seem to give either way. Im not sure if the bolt is supposed to loosen up, or if its like the old truck models. The old truck models all you needed was the breaker bar with the socket to pull on the tensioner long enough while the belt came loose and then you could let go of the tensioner...is that the same way?
I am dealing with the small space as well. I have not and probably wont take off any fan shrouds off, but if I have too I will. The fan is getting in my way and im just going to have to get used to it..tough on me. I would like to have this project done by tonight, so I can drive my vehicle to work tonight!....Thank you for taking the time in taking me step by step.
