How do you replace a starter on a 1994-97 Ford Mustang with a 3.8 V6?

Could someone please tell me how do you replace a starter on a 1994-97 Ford Mustang with a 3.8 V6? The engineers at Ford really screwed up on this one. I tried to remove the starter but it's hitting the factory header. Do you have to unbolt the header from the exhaust pipe and the head or can you just unbolt the header from the head. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.
