How do you remove words from predictive text?

I'm pretty sure that a SIM card swap (or removal with a boot to Offline mode) wipes the predictive text's custom word database. Helpful since I can now finally type "the" without the phone inexplicably defaulting to "tif".

A number of reviewers have cited the inability to edit the dictionary as a defect in Nokia phones. I believe (but am not sure) that a hard reset will clear out the words you've added.

There is no way to delete just certain words from the dictionary, but if you've got FExplorer or something similar, you can delete the file that stores all the words you've entered to clear them all without resetting your phone. I believe it's in C:\Data\System\Predic\ . Can't remember the exact path, but I'm sure it was in the Predic folder. There's only one file inside it. Worked for me!

This Ill have to try. I guess getting rid of ALL the words and starting over might make sense that it will only store the words I care to use most often. Just going to be a PITA to have to retype them all.

firmware upgrade flashes the phone memory so it clears out the predictive text file that is stored at C:\Predic\
it's a .dat file the folder usually has only one file in it, you can also delete this file manually using FExplorer or any other file manager that shows system folders, to get rid of all user entered words and start over fresh.
