We are replacing a dead battery for a 1999 Dodge Intrepid, and we are aware you have to remove the air filter housing and turn the wheels all the way to the right (very hard with no power steering btw) But we are unable to remove the plastic shield that is between the wheel and the battery. The bolts/plugs are impossible to grab and we are afraid of damaging them and being unable to replace them once they are removed. Is there an easier way to remove the plastic bolts/plugs?
This car has also resided in Florida for 10 years and the plastic is crumbling as we are working on it so we need a good way to do this without destroying the plastic panel.
