How do you remove the painted Coca-Cola label from a glass Coke bottle?

I really need to know how to remove the painted label on an old-fashioned Coke bottle, but I have no idea how. Steel wool? paint scraper? Will these work? Yes? No? Anything else that would work? Thanks!
