How do you remove return address labels from acetate sheet protectors?

I have no problem soaking and scratching the label off, but the glue is next to impossible to get rid of.
I asked my husband about Goof Off and was told it would do more harm than good - he said it might make the sheet protector sticky. Any suggestions?
