Just wondering how you rate "The Rock" as an actor?.

I have only seen him in 1 movie & that was "Welcome To The Jungle" & i thought he did an alright job.

Is there any roles that he has played in your opinion that he just sucked/died on his ass or has he managed to pull the roles off?.

Just wondering what your opinions are on him as an actor?.

Thanxs

I smell whats hes cookin.

He has incredible charisma and have enjoyed Scorpion King, WTTJ, Walking Tall and he was about the only good thing in Be Cool where he stole every scene from Vince Vaughan.

Have yet to see Doom so can't comment. Compared to most rappers, sport stars, pop stars or any other non actor i think hes pretty damn good. He ain't Pacino but he doesn't have to be.

He's good at what he does - I mean, he'd have to be an okay actor since that's what wrestling is all about.

No great but certainly passable enough to watch without cringing.

I think he was very good in the Scorpion King, for a non actor. But then that isn't strictly true, because he has to work to a script in WWE wrestling.I think quite a lot of wrestlers could be in movies, perhaps not as lead actors, but they could do some very good cameos.

Anyway,he is streets ahead of Hulk Hogan as a wrestler and as a film performer.

Just curious, but what exactly is the situation with "The Rock"? I believe that the WWE corporation owns that name,so what will happen when his contract with them expires? Will he then have to use his birth name of Dwayne Johnson? Can he purchase the name from them to continue it in his acting career?

I haven't really followed wrestling for a couple of years, but obviously he must still be with the corporation to be using that name.

I'm sure that there must be a hard core wrestling fan out there who could tell me the situation between "The Rock",a product of World Wrestling Entertainment, and Dwayne Johnson,B list movie actor. Many thanks.

Hardcore wrestling fan? *raises hand*

The Rock's contract expired at the end of 2004, i believe. However, he remains on good terms with WWE and as such is still allowed to use the WWE copyrighted name"The Rock". I wouldn't be surprised if there was some legal agreement between both parties which allows him to use the name.

He's also mainly billed now as Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson so if there was a falling out with WWE he could drop "The Rock" and still be pretty much known by his real name.

Thanks for the info.It would be interesting to see how his acting career would go if he dropped "The Rock" from his acting persona.Be honest,Dwayne Johnson is a seriously lame name! I think though that if it came down to it,he could change his name to Rock Johnson by deed poll, which would keep his wrestling fans happy.

Didn't boxer Marvin Hagler change his name to Marvelous Marvin Hagler years ago?
