This is my first car, and I have no experience wiring, and don't know anything about what kind of subwoofers I should get. I'm driving a 1997 honda accord, but the stereo system is not stock.

Its easier than you think. You need amp, subs, wires. One power wire from battery to amp. One ground wire from bolt in trunk to amp. RCA's from amp to cd player. Remote wire from cd player to amp. wires from sub to amp. I had an accord before and easily hooked up a sub and amp. Dont waste your money on high end stuff, just get a cheap set up. I have one 12" sub and i get people who ask me all the time what i have because they say its sounds great. Wires come in a kit, with instructions for everything. dont be intimidated its all common sense. just unplug your battery when u start.

you can go to a custom car stereo place and spend a small fortune or you can go to walmart and buy a big honkin sub kit and install it yourself and save a bundle. They will both sound pretty much the same. Just follow the instructions that come with the kit. It's not rocket science or anything like that. Good Luck
