How do you properly put an image from Photoshop in Final Cut Pro?

I made a lower third in Photoshop, and I have felt such frustration trying to put it in my video project. No matter what I do, either the lower third or video ends up blurry.

I started with a 720x534 image in photoshop. I then exported it as a 720x480 tiff.

Am I missing something?
