How do you point domain name to index.shtml instead of the default index.html?

I have a website created at www.chanimated.com, but like all url it directs to the index.html file on the server.
www.chanimated.com/beta.shtml is how I would like it to display.
What can I do so that www.chanimated.com can display properly?
