Ive applied for an art and design course at hugh baird, but i havnt got the qualifications but it said that you may be accepted on your portfolio, and im doing art in 6th form now and im predicted a destiction, what type of things should i put in my portfolio, should i use 1 theme or different things, and how many pieces, and on paper or canvas etc.

From my experience (Art at A'Level, College Foundation and University) they like to see a wide range of things. Show the work you have most enjoyed or think is your best. Show your working as well as final pieces, so sketches and working out, things like that. Show things that best express your creativity. There's not a limit to how much you should take but you don't want to be there all day, so 8 -15 pieces is probably best.
Good luck!
