How do you make a up to date WoW private server, (post a link to a walk-through)

or a link to a GM fun server? Im thinking about making a machinima WoW movie, and i need GM powers and the ability to make items. i was going to make my own private server, but none of the guides i found ethier didnt work or were outdated. An empty GM server would work, but it needs to be empty enough that people wont interfere, any helpfull fingers pointing in the right direction?
