How do you line judge for volleyball properly?

I was chosen to be a line judge for a volleyball game and totally messed it up. I was just wondering do I line judge for the server or the team I'm nearest to. In fact, just send me a complete list of rules. Please! this is an emergency.

When the team opposite of you hits/serves, you judge if it's in/out.

you have to call a foot vault if the server steps over the line while serving. if you put your hands toward your chest and the back of your hands facing out then you told the ref that the ball went out of bounds. if you put your arms straight and slanted toward your feet, then the ball was out. you judge for the team your closest to. if the ball lands on the line, then its still in.
