Which of these dogs would you judge most intelligent?
If you had a choice to own one, which would you choose ?
1. A dog that learned tricks and command quickly and performs them reliably on command.
2. A dog that figures out on it's own how to turn a doorknob, lean down on it (the door sticks) and push it open, then teaches that to the other dogs.
3. A therapy dog on a psych floor that reliably goes to the person in most need of help and stays patiently at their side until the person can express their feelings.
I am purposely not specifying breeds here although I have specific examples in mind. This is an opinion question - no right or wrong answer.
