how do you install a co2 canister on an orion paintball gun?

i have an VL orion paintball gun that i bought a 9 oz co2 tank for. i screwed it in but it doesnt seem to be working. its full because i just bought it. its doesnt look to be screwed in all the way but when i try to tighten it, it doesnt go any further??? im sooo lost?
 
When u buy tanks from Wal Mart they come empty, but if it's full u wanna cock ur gun and screw in ur tank untill u hear air go in, it should screw in smoothly if u done it right
