How do you hook up a marine stereo?

I have a 16ft jon boat that I would like to fix up this winter and was hoping to put a marine stereo in at the same time. I just need to know how hard it is to hook up. I have a 12 volt battery but my motor is independent, so can I just run the stereo off the battery and recharge it each time or what do I need to do?

really just need a hot wire and a ground and wire speaker an dif its the type that you have to recharge battery after each trip might want to think about two batteries
