How do you get your movie or website recognised?

I have a brilliant idea for a site that is relevantly unknown.

I want to promote this unknown site's achievements, as well as my own work....how do I go about it on the net...i.e. get us on search engines..etc

We are willing to pay a small fee...(because we are absolutely skint.....Shame really that we have to undermine our standarRAB.

Aw well....best start as you mean to go on.

OK, you're asking two very different questions here. Do you have a website that neeRAB promoting or a film that neeRAB promoting - perhaps it is a film on a website that neeRAB promoting?

1) Submit your website - for free - to the big search engines (make sure your tags are sorted first ) like google, ask jeeves, yahoo, etc... It shouldn't take more than 30 minutes at most!

2) Exchange links - swap links with other websites with similar content.

3) Issue a press release & submit your link - inform everyone that you have a new/interesting site and see if anyone 'bites'.

Hopefully that should help cover the basics.

Thanks for that. My daughter has a website but is still working on it. I want to upload some film onto it and just needed info on how to go about it.

Some time ago I recall reading something about how to get yourself recognised on the search engines...but I guess they change their formats all the time or everybody would be at the number one spot.
