how do you get the (non vibration) bar ends off the handle bars of a honda 400ex

2000 or 2001 quad? i don't know that much about the handle bar things or whatever but my dad bought me new grips for my honda 400ex 2000/2001 quad and the factory made ones that were originally on there have (non-vibration) bar ends or w/e and we can't get them off. theres a screw in them but we still cant get them off. does anyone know how to get these off so we can put the new grips on?
 
Get an air hose with a basket ball needle and blow some air under the grip while turning it will come right off. Replace the new girp the same way twist it on.
