How do you get the internet thing off your blackberry?

I saved a page the other day on my blackberry web browser so I could restart my phone to get better reception. Well, I turned it back on, and there was a little globe where the notifications go. And I didn't think much of it, but I'd just like to know what it means and how to get rid of it? It's annoying thinking I have a new text or email to find out it's just the internet thing. Thank you!
