How do you get started, with no experience, teaching part time for colleges?

It is my understanding that a person can teach at a lot of community colleges and possibly some four year colleges with a master's degree. However, the job postings that I have come across require some experience. I have no experience.

apply anyways---experience could be anything to anyone. try a student teaching internship or maybe try teaching a community class at the library or something for free

Community colleges typically want you to have experience teaching for the full time positions. It may be ideal for an adjunct instructor (one who teaches part-time) to have experience as well; however, this is not always the case that adjuncts have experience. In fact, adjuncting is a good way to gain valuable teaching experience.

You should just apply for the adjunct faculty positions at all community colleges in which you're interested in teaching. Chances are, they will need more help from adjuncts, then you'd get your chance to teach and get experience.
