How do you get ringtones on lg banter?

Does any one know how to use recordings and audios sent through text message or bluetooth on the lg banter? Because i will get the txt containing the audio and save it to my phone next i will go to that ringtone on my phone and click options but there is no "set as" option so there is no way i can use it. but if i go into my ringers (which is the free little ringtones you get for each phone) you do get the "set as" feauture. I dont get it. Someone please help im losing my hair lmao
