Ok, my girlfriend's face was sliced open by her adopted brother's fiancee. Basically, the fiancee was pissed at the mom and my girlfriend was trying to calm her down, since there was a minor in the room. The fiancee then cut my girlfriend in the face when she went over to clam her down. Apparently she felt "threated" when my girlfriend, who is 4' 11" fyi, stood up and went over to talk to her. My girlfriend had to get 8 stitches in her cheek and one in her lip. The police took the fiancee away and stayed in jail for 3 hours until her parents paid bail. The fiancee is 24 and my girlfriend is 19. Needless to say, my girlfriend will now have a horrible scar across her face for the rest of her life and since this is the fiancee's first offense pretty much nothing will happen to her. I would just like to know what would be the best course of action to make this woman pay. I would love to just tear her face up and call it square, but i do not know if the repercussions are worth it. So would the legal route be better? She has a one year old daughter with my girlfriend's brother and they do not have housing and both work minimum paying jobs. Is there any way that i could get her wages garnished to pay for plastic surgery to fix my girlkfriend's face? I just really need advice or i might just have to resort to vigilante tactics.
