How do you fix the reverse lights on a Pontiac G6 2007?

I switched out the light bulbs and fuse out but still doesn't work. I also have and automatic start but i don't think its the problem. Any suggestions on what could be the problem? Don't want to take it to the dealer and pay 600 dollars just to look for the problem.
