So I just went to Walmart, did my shopping, and after putting my groceries in the trunk, went to close the trunk, but it wouldn't close. It opened just fine and there have been no previous problems that I saw with the trunk, it just randomly decided it won't close. After fiddling with it for a few minutes I decided to go home and drove very slowly because my trunk kept bouncing.
I looked at it and it appears that the lock is working just fine. I can use my remote lock or the key and it lock/unlocks as it normally does. But the latch won't grab on to the hook. I think it's stuck in the closed position, so when I try to close it all that happens is the sound of metal banging against metal. But I can use my key or whatever object to push the latch down, but I'm not exactly sure where it's supposed to be. I push it all the way down but I can't seem to figure out how to fix it. I think I just need to reposition the latch but I'm not sure.
This car drives me nuts. Always some stupid little problem that isn't covered under my extended warranty and that the dealership charges way too much for. Never again will I buy another American made car, worst decision of my life. But until I get lucky and somebody crashes into my car and totals it so that I can collect the insurance money, I will have to continue trying to fix all these stupid problems that come up.
