How do you find the time to rewatch old shows?

So do you guys not own tons of boxsets of all the shows you've watched throughout the years?

I watch a LOT of shows, and its actually work to go through the DVDs and watch every single ep of each show again.

Anyone have this problem in terms of time?

I obviously don't mean you have to watch an entire boxset in one day, but I mean watching a few eps a day to get through it in a timely manner.

Earlier this year I made an attempt to rewatch the entire DCAU, (Batman, Superman, Batman Beyond, Zeta, Static Crossovers, Justice League/JLU, the DTVs, and even Teen Titans and Legion of Superheroes), and if I did not watch 5 eps a day, I would have never gotten through it.

All those shows I listed combined comes out to almost 500 episodes, which is insane when you think about it.

I pretty much watched almost 5 eps a day consistently of each show in order on the DVD boxset, and even then it was time consuming and took forever to get through.

And of course there's all my other cartoons outside of the DC stuff, most of which go on for many episodes. There is a LOT of viewing time with this stuff.

Even without commercials each ep is roughly 22 minutes, and times that by how many eps there are in each series, and it comes out to hours upon hours.

How does anyone find the time? I am lucky that I have free time now, but I wonder if I can still do this once I get a full-time job or in the future a family.

Then let me reword my comment. Having a boxset doesn't mean you have go through the episodes from beginng to end all the time. Sometimes you (not you specifically CC) just put on a random disc and relax. Sometimes you just watch your favorite episodes. Or sometimes you just watch a disc a day or a disc a week.

And that's the problem of the thread. You're assuming that all of us constantly watch each episodes from begining to end when we put in a disc.

Yeah, I know sometimes its best just to pull out a random episode and rewatch it.

But don't most people also rewatch a show in chronological order from beginning to end? If I buy a boxset, I buy it with the intent to rewatch every episode (even if I hated an episode I still rewatch it), and I usually do it in order and with each and every season of said show in order.

Does nobody else do a "complete run" of a show anymore? Where you watch an entire series from beginning to end in order?

We buy a box set usually, because:

A: The show may come on at a time incovenient to us.
B: The show is uncensored or just plan Uncut (since shows have to be trimmed to 22 minutes)
C: It barely plays on tv or not at all, thus getting a box set is the only way to view it.

Every now and then, sure, but not to the point of it becoming an obsession.

Agreed, but there are so many shows!

I don't plan to rewatch any (old) DC shows now for at least another year, because I just did a complete run-through of every old DC show.

But as said, I watch so many other cartoons as well. And then there is live-action stuff like Star Trek, Buffy/Angel, etc.

I mean for those of us who watched so many shows over the years, it gets harder and harder to go back and rewatch them all because they're so time consuming.

All the hours pile up and when I'm older and have a family, I don't know if I'll have the time to do this anymore. Watching TV actually takes up so much time when you think about it, I'm actually glad I don't watch sports because that's even more time consuming.
