How do you feel when your outdoor cat gets hit by a car?

I'm just trying to understand the mentality of people who risks their cats lives by letting them outdoors. Don't you know that a car will not stop for your cat? I would be devastated. NEVER could I l put my cats in such a situation! So, my question is, how do you really feel?
 
Ugg. I agree. I don't think I could get over the guilt if that happened to one of my cats. Interesting you asked this as I was just thinking the same thing after reading a question last night from someone with a badly injured cat and what to do "other than the vet". What gets me are those that allow their cats to free roam yet can't afford to care from them when they're injured. That's doubly irresponsible.
