How do you feel about the media's treatment of Hillary Clinton and Sara Palin?

Fair game or below the belt?
"Almost anyone can run an oil rig but not just anyone can be a governor."

TWOSOCKS, I dunno if I buy into that one. Have you seen some of the governors we have elected recently? Ahh-nold and Jesse the Body come to mind. Running oil rigs requires some kind of skill apart from the ability to attract publicity and look good on the cameras;0)
"I exaggerated the difference a bit but I still think it takes special skills to be a SUCCESSFUL governor."

Fair enough. That sounds reasonable. But would you really expect Todd to be a stay at home dad when nobody expected Hillary to stay at home with Chelsea while Bill was governor of Arkansas?

It was unfair to criticize Sarah Palin as a mother because Bristol got pregnant. If anyone should have been staying at home looking after the kids it should have been Mr. Palin. Almost anyone can run an oil rig but not just anyone can be a governor.

edit- Governor Sarah Palin has been legitimized by the Alaskan citizens. 60 to 80% approval ratings. Ventura and the Governator have proven to be ineffective. I don't know if I buy your comparison. Point taken on the oil rig though. It does take more skill than I gave the job credit for. I exaggerated the difference a bit but I still think it takes special skills to be a SUCCESSFUL governor.

edit- I personally don't expect either to be forced to stay at home. I'm simply saying that we shouldn't judge professional mom's with more scrutiny than we do professional dads.
............in all fairness now........

All is fair in love and war. And let's face it, politics is a form of war in small. They have goals they want to reach in the political arena, in order to that they have to put themselves out there for all to see. If they can't handle the negative aspects of that, they aren't going to make it politically anyway, as we saw with Palin. And though Clinton didn't reach her goal, she is credited with having great skill and has been rewarded for that.

Well, if you put yourself out there in the media, then be sure that the media IS going to talk about you. They do that to everyone, not just Clinton and Palin.

I think the media use all of our potential politicians as fodder thus it is equal.

When we ignore how men are treated unfairly, but highlight how women are treated unfairly, it can sure appear as if women are treated worse.

Well can't feel much about it. I mean after all, the media says anything to stir up sht. I've learned to not listen to the media, or read those silly magazines.

But I'm sure Sara Palin is not as stupid as she looks, even though I fear she is. : /
