I am writing a paper on Islam, and would like to get the opinion of a Muslim on how he/she feels about the lifestyle that comes with being Islamic. Also any other comment about being Muslim is welcomed. I'm not sure if I'm wording my question correctly, hopefully one of you can help me. I would also prefer if the comments were positive and didn't disregard Islam as a religion, this is not the place for those types of comments. THANK YOU :)

(I know its not about Ramadan, but i feel i can get a better answer here)
By the way i have no bias for and no bias against your religion. I ask these questions with the most respect and truly want your honest opinions without all the "you could never understand" stuff. I've done a lot of research on the subject and needed to include a quote/interview type question in my paper. I really appericate your answers and you guys are giving me just what i wanted!! Thank you all very much!

(Also it would be great if you included your name in the comment)
P.S- You guys are amazing. Keep up the wonderful answers! (CupCake, thank you for sharing your opinion, it was interesting insight)
zarah Chui Trankil: sorry if i sounded rude, i just didn't want everyone to think that i had a bias (for lack of better word) against Islam. Thank you for your opinion!
Al Iman Al Haqq: Thank you for your thoughtful answer despite being sick and tired! :)

you came to the right section..
i feel this the best way of life.
Quran gives the complete guidance in all aspects of life..
its the religion of peace, and it hurts when they say islam is terrorists and people are having islamophobia..

It is perfect in every single way. The five daily prayers allow me to never forget God and always be grateful. I'm forever reading in the media articles of how bad alcohol is and how many diseases you get from having sex with everybody and eating pork and it all comes down to Islam is the right way which allows you to live a healthy life-style.

its biased against women.

EDIT: I get hands down for stating my opinion politely?

Welcome to Ramadan section, which can actually be named the "Islaam" section of Y/A. Please feel free to ask anything else you'd like.

When I came to Islaam, it brought much peace, happiness, contentment and strength in me. And as I kept gaining knowledge of the correct creed(belief system) and action(practice the knowledge), it brought my life into much perspective, and order, due to the detailed and practical nature of The Qur'an, and the prophet's sunnah. Today I try my best to judge and decide in all my affairs according to the guidance of Islaam.. I do not feel limited or abandoned, but rather empowered as a woman in Islaam. All praise is to Allah, things are looking much better than it ever was and it has changed my life-style completely. I am looking forward to improve much more in my dealings, character and in everyway, by the Mercy of Allah. The knowledge of the "greater reasons" behind the islaamic actions (with faith) make all the difference in loving it, and not be repulsed by it, as is the case for many born Muslims, and non-Muslims.
I will not change what's in it, nor trade it with anything in this world while I'm sane, by the permission of Allah. :)

I converted to Islam at the beginning of 2008. I have found my reference point. It is relevant in every aspect of my life. Before I found Islam it was like walking around with the light off, now there is light and clarity in my life, I cannot describe how fabulous my life is now compared to previously. My son has also converted and he is now so much more grounded and stable.

My family is not Muslim, they were shocked at first. But when they realised that this change was a positive one for me they have supported my decision. All in all the positive comments far and away out way any negative.

Peace

I'm a muslim, i follow the word of Allah (swt) i.e God to you. Im a girl i wear the traditional headscarf (Al-Hijaab)
To be honest i not sure you will ever understand us as you don't understand our faith, you see this quite dificult to explain it according to me. because i don't really know your knowledge on islam, you could have heard or been told about it of maybe from media?? but this isn't islam, if i had the write pfff so many

In brief we follow what our Lord tell us and are very happy with the lifestyle... Many are those who think that woman are oppressed or what ever they think but this is not true. We woman in islam feel secure and very happy and grateful for everything, Yes we are Equal to men But were given diferent task...
Unfortuanately no matter how i try to reply or give you an explanation you wouldn't understand our belief and lifestyle...

But you have to understand that everything we, Muslim, do is Down to Allah Will's only, no one else... Allah is great..

Peace to All

I am a revert to Islam. My whole life has change since I began to follow Islam. I mean every aspect. From how I sleep to what I do during the day. I am very happy being a Muslimah. Islam is logical and clear. I don't have as many questions about life as I did before.I feel great personal satisfaction in following what I believe Allah SWT expects from me. I feel humbled. I accept I am just a mere slave to serve my Creator and other people in HIS name. I realize I have a choice. I also realize nothing comes but from Allahs SWT will.It not hard. Just love and praise HIM and only HIM. Be thankful for all the blessings HE has given us. Help others in HIS name. I feel I have a peaceful, meaningful, and fullfilling life now. I just have a better outlook on life now because of all the changes made in me because of Islam.

Salam= Peace

All the best with your paper!
Islam sets rules and guides for a human to attain spititualness or closeness to God. As science furthers, Islamic laws tend to be truth.
1.For example Alcohol, if one does not drink it for fear/love of God, they will never have to deal with drunk driving or spending all their income on booze (those who are addicted).
2.Then comes the meat we eat. Our animals must be fed and given water before they are killed. We then thank Allah for the food we have been given, turn it away from us, take a sharp blade and slice the jugular vein so that the animal feels no pain. Once doing that all the blood leaves the animal. Remember their blood can be infested with bacteria, so we have iliminated one potential threat to our health. The second is that the animal is not shocked when killed and does not omit anger hormones through the body. So, halaal meat is healthy.
3. Our government system (the one established in the old days) was the first democratic system of government. Now though, muslim "countries" do not follow it entirely.
4. The No-dating rule. The fact that practicing muslims wait to have sex is correct in the sense that there will be no child out of wedlock and love will grow. In today's society when one likes another it is purely lust. Love develops. Plus sex should be regarded as sacred and protected. It may be difficult (I know) but it is for the better because you will get the man/woman who is at your level of piety upon marriage. (I hope im clear enough)
5. Prayers 5 times daily: Constant remembrance of God
6. Not listening to Music... now adays all the music is about drugs, sex, and money. That is a true pollutant.
7. I FORGOT THE MOST IMPORTANT!!!!!
HIJAAB!!!!!
Hijab liberates a women from the eyes and possibly thoughts of men. Hijaab is however not only for the women but it has been commanded that a man lower his gaze before anything. Women in hijaab are less likely raped.. when questioning a series of convicted rapists they all say that they look for a women who's clothes can be torn through quickly. (Article read once upon a time)
As well, it allows women to be heard/seen for their thoughts, ideas and not to be an object of beauty/desire.

However... you must realize that MANY CULTURES interfere with the true religion of Islam. By having two parents of different cultures, and living in the west.. I can practice my religion and not my culture, thus showing me the truth and logic behind Islam.
