How do you feel about Julian Assange and the Wikileaks controversy?

So is he a traitor who should be brought to trial, or is he acting as a journalist exposing government wrong-doing? I have mixed opinions about it. As to publishing the names of undercover agents operating abroad doesn't necessarily serve the public and only puts the operative in danger. I don't think the public has a "need to know" here. However, publishing videos of American helicopters firing on journalists is outrageous behaviour and I think the public should find out about it. How do you feel about it?
One sidebar - I saw an interview with Mr. Assange and he was asked about the charges he faces in Sweden. He refused to answer the question and walked away from the interview. On it's face, he seems to be something of a hypocrit in ths regard. If you make an occupation of exposing the secrets of others, how can you be adamant about hiding yours? What do you think?
fdu9 - no victim here. I mostly get my news from the same sources you do. I probably could have researched my question better, but after having seen all I really want to about it, I'd like to know what the people in this community thinks. If, hypothetically, he were extridited, I doubt he would be convicted. "Egg on your face" is not a punishable crime.
