6 ways to conlude a debate
(1)In conclusion i believe this is right because....
(2) This concludes that.....
(3) Afterall it is to be said that....
(4)This Statement (eg) Police should patrol more often should be one to be followed up because without more regular police controls the crime will spread even further then it already has.
(in number 4 if you use this you say your statement(what you believe)
(or are your point in the argument) and then your strongest example
why its a good way to finish: to show the judge or who ever is judging both sides that you have a good understand of the topic.
(5)In addition i would like to add that (eg) The Vietnam War didn't achieve anything and there are many sources to back this up.one is
the song i was only 19 by the band Redgum. The lyrics tell the devestating consequences of after the war and the effects of the troops

disagree with the opponents views because eg(if the man who was suspected of killing his wife on their underwater honeymoon didn't do it then why did his diving tank say he never ventured over to her and that he casually rose to the surface. ( This is the most commonly used conclusion to a debate as you are saying that their(the opponents)side/ point of the debate is wrong which without even saying yours is
right pretty much sums up and concludes your view is right.

1.Get the attention of the room by either raising your voice or standing up. Outline the need to end the debate by listing reasons simply. These could be anything from a lack of time to the need for an urgent resolution.
2.Inform all opposing sides they will have a few minutes to summarize their arguments before the close of the debate and give them a specified time to discuss their arguments and gather information. Set ground rules for the summary such as no interrupting of an opposing side and if necessary outline the consequences if they do not follow your rules.
