how do you edit contacts on a samsung illusion?

I just got this new phone and i'm putting in contact names and such...
and you know how even after you can go to your contact list and click edit and change whatever, how do you do that on this phone, i don't understand.
i've looked in the booklets they gave me, but it is not there.
help, much appreciated (:
