how do you easily catch a ditto in the trophy garden in pokemon d/p?

okay so in pokemon diamond i have the national dex and i saved in front of mr backlot... he never says he saw a ditto when i talk to him, and ive tried so many times!!! will someone help with advice or trade me one? i know about using the pokeradar on that route but its too hard!!! help please
