how do you do a cgi kill in Red dead redemption?

So i was playing single player in Red Dead and well there was this one guy i shot once then when i ran up to kill him i shot and it activated a cgi sequence and made John shove his gun under the guys chin and shoot him. HOW THE HELL DO I DO IT AGAIN!
