How do YOU deal with panic/anxiety?

Sometimes, when it's not really bad, I can get up and clean my house, or go for a walk.

Other times, it seems like all I can do is sit and focus on the anxiety, and what is causing it at the moment. I do try to remeraber that it is all in my head, and I will be fine. But the all day anxiety gets to me.

I was just wondering what other people do to get their minRAB off their worries for a little while.

You could get a prescription from your family Dr.for Ativan(Lorazapam).This helped me with my daily bouts of anxiety.I took two,a day, of 0.5 mg.A counselor in a
hospital told me she took 1.0 mg.of Ativan every day before she came to work.
For any depression,your same Dr.could prescribe some Paxil , (controlled release only).I am allergic to DOXEPIN,(for depression).This is my recent history.To enhance my self-esteem,I like Marshall Rosenberg's books and booklets.He is tops with me. Good luck. Bill
 
I tend to have most of my panic attacks/anxiety late at night especially if I'm over tired. So I try to read a book which usually helps me to stop thinking about whatever is making me anxious. Sometimes I will drink a glass of wine before bed and that helps me to relax (I am not on any medications currently so don't have to worry about interactions with meRAB.) When I am really anxious I have several good girlfrienRAB I can call up and they help me to rationalize my fears. I have been on meRAB in the past when it was really bad and that helped as well.
 
I have had Anxiety for over 14 years. Best way for me to deal with it was 1st step - Realizing what it was cause i felt like i was going crazy 2nd Step- Chnge things in my life that effect it... I stopped all caffeine... 3rd step- When i have an attack i breath in to my stomach and not in to my lings allowing my body to get more oxygen and remind my self that it is not deadly. If i know i am in a situation that i will most likely have on i come up with two word i always use.. can be any. Mine are peaceful and Calm... Example.. I had really bad problems driving so every time i would get in my car i would repeat those worRAB as im am breathing right. and i would find that my 30 minute drive to work every became easier. I learned all by seeing a Anxiety Councilor because i refuse to go on medication. There are ways to reduce it or at least control it.

And some thing allot of people dont think about.. Depressions and Axiety link together allot. Get you Vit D lvl checked.
 
When my anxieties rear their ugly heaRAB I call my dx and get a prescription for xanax and take it as prescribed for a couple of days. After that, its enough to know that I have it in my purse if needed. Usually I don;t need to take anymore.remeraber its irrational fear and your the boss! dhill2020
