How do you deal with flaky friends?

I had a friend text me the other night at midnight asking me to call them. I didn't get the text until 3 hours later and called them thinking it might be an emergency and have called/texted them everyday for the last 4 days to see what's going on and this person never picks up or returns my calls. I'm really hurting. If you have any idea what might be happening or any advice or encouragement I would appreciate it. Thank you.
 
Well, if the friend never responded to any of your calls, then it most likely wasn't an emergency. To go even further, that same friend probably also hasn't answered you because they are annoyed that you can't take the hint and stop calling them. I know you are concerned, but the best thing to do is ignore this friend. When you do that, the friend will most likely call you after awhile. Move on with your life, and keep busy. Don't let this friend think that you don't have a life and you have nothing better to do than to call them all of the time.
