how do you cook in rune factory 2?

Hmm I haven't played the game in a long time but I think you have to buy the cooking utensils from someone in town? I'm not 100% sure but its probably the upgrade man or the junk shop. Hope this helped a bit x
 
like the title how do you earn cooking points in rune factory 2. i have the workshop but there is nothing in it can someone help?
