How do you control yourself?

Well I have a family plan with 5 lines and every 6 months or so I can get an upgrade. I presently have the chocolate 3 which I love but than I see all the new phones coming out or are out such as the Versa or the Storm. Any advice.

Of course, your wallet is probably your best friend when it comes to self-control. ;) Beyond that, it helps to read actual customer reviews of the many cellphones that are out there ... some that may look great in the ads (isn't that what advertising is supposed to do?) may not look as appealing after reading negative user reviews. If you see a phone that you think you might want to buy, check it out thru the search engines (Google, Yahoo, etc.). A good place to start might be the cellphone reviews at Cnet.com:

My daughter and I both have the LG env2. So far it is a great phone. I have been able to put music on it very easily and I am also able to make custom ringtones and send them to my phone very easily. I was told it is able to do much more. I only use my phone for texting and regular phone use. Texting is nice with the full keyboard.

New phones don't always have to glitches worked out. I mean look at the Iphone - that took several releases and it's still not perfect.

I don't buy the newest phones on the market for that reason and also because of the high cost. If you MUST have the newest technology out there, you will pay a premium for the privilage. I just don't think it's worth it.

Then you should know that not all new phones are created equal. Like you, I have heard of many problems with the I-Phone. To tell you the truth, there are many problems with most of the touch screen phones. I have a friend that is trying out a lot of phones and has come to this conclusion. He is going to get the env2 because it is versitle and not a touch screen phone and also doesn't have to pay a high price for it.

Of all the touch screen phones, the only one I like is the iTouch (if that counts). Every touchscreen phone is so hard to use for me. However, I agree, the env2 is a great phone.

I have been with verizon for a long time and I do not plan on going anywhere. I have all there services TV, Internet, house phone and cell phone and by far are the best out there. I have had others and Verizon is the best. They mightbe a little more money but it is worth it. So upgrading to a new phone and extending my contract doesn't bother me.

In that case, let your budget be your guide. If new phones are important to you, go right ahead if that's what you want (and can afford). There are much more expensive habits out there than that.
