how do you control the led lights in your car? like turn them on and off?

im thinking of buying some led lights for the interior of my car but im just wondering do they stay on constantly or do they turn off automatically? and if i have to turn them off myself, how do i do it? ive heard of ones that also change colour to the music,, can someone give me some information or a site with lots of info that i need?
