How do you charge a yadda mirror bluetooth for 8 hours without draining your batter?

It says to charge 8 hours by car charger. But as soon as I turn to take the keys out the red light goes out.
I have a 2004 toyota echo. I bought this at canadian tire. Anyone got any ideas?
