How do you change gears on a magna mountain bike?

I need help with the gears on my mountain bike, can someone please help me.
I have a 24″ 21 speed Magna Mountain bike, and this is my first time riding a mountain bike/ any kind of bike.

I’m trying to figure out how the gears work, Its hard for me to go up hill,
does anybody know what gears i should put the bike on.

The left handle bar has 3 gear numbers and between each number it has other clicks cause you can hear them clicking.

and the right one has 7 gear numbers

which ones are for uphill and which ones are for down hill

Can someone please help me, its really frustrating to figure this bike riding stuff out
 
For normal riding use 2 on the left and 1-7 on the right.

For hills use 1 and 1-4

For going fast and down hill use 3 and 4-7

You want to use a gear that is easy to pedal at 70-90 rpm's.
You want to shift to 2 and 2 before you come to a stop so you have an easy gear to start out with again.

You want to avoid using the smallest and largest sprockets at the same time. This causes the chain to work at extreme angles and is hard on the chain and gears. You only want to shift when you are pedaling and let up when you do.

I'd suggest practicing changing gears while you're riding on flat ground. You'll feel the resistance change in your legs as you work through the gears. The largest front ring (big chainring) and the smallest rear sprocket (cog) provides the highest gear ratio (primarily for descents). The smallest chainring and the largest cog provides the lowest gear ratio for climbing the steepest hills. Work through the gears until you find what's comfortable to you. As you get accustomed to riding, your legs will get a bit stronger, and you'll find yourself challenging yourself with slightly higher gear ratios than you did when you started.

Cadence = the crank's rpm. Avoid riding in too low of a cadence by shifting to lower gear combinations. Low cadence riding can be stressful on the knees in addition to being inefficient. If you're cadence drops below 60 or exceeds 100, you should shift gears to maintain something closer to 80.

The left shifter controls shifts made on front rings. When you shift between the small, middle, and big chainrings, you need to be turning the cranks at very light pressure to allow the chain to move from one ring to another. The right shifter controls the rear derailleur. When you shift between the seven rear cogs, it's best to stop pedaling momentarily while the derailleur moves laterally.

Ummm...assuming you turned on the computer and typed this question...you can't figure out a bike? More so, you haven't noticed the difference in pressure against your feet when peddling and changing the gears...especially 1-3 on the left bar? Either your bike is messed up or you are.
