I am attempting to follow the design for a static phase converter shown in >

and am having difficulty getting the motor to start. My motor states it is a 2.5 amp job, which I estimate to be around 2 horses, and have roughly doubled the values used for the 1 horse motor in the article (except for the starter cap). any ideas?
