Disconnect the hose from the cylinder and replace the oiler screw with a solid screw. The oiler drive gear could be removed and the oiler left in place. They used to have a oil pump block plate made by the factory ,and you may have to make your own if you want to take the pump off.The jet size will need to be increased to compensate for the thicker fuel when pre-mix is used.

Hello i changed the carb and throttle cable on my yamaha dt175 and cannot use the oil injection with the new one as it is throttle operated, and i would prefer to run pre mix anyways for peace of mind, even though people say these pumps don't fail. how do i block off the oil injection system? Do i have to remove the oil pump from the engine and make a block off plate or could I just disconnect the hoses from the tank and block them off? any info would be appreciated. also what would you run for premix in this particular bike? thanks again.

Some of these Yamaha's had the injector also oiling the main bearings - I you'd have to check the shop manual for the bike to be sure this isn't the case on the DT175.

So why didn't you get the right throttle cable? If you put pre-mix through a carburettor that's not designed for it (i.e. yours), then you could end up failing the whole engine, never mind the oil pump. To answer your last question - I wouldn't. Maybe you should buy a Jawa instead?

I notice the Yamaha tech still didn't answer your last question.
