How do you ask your girlfriend if she wants to have sex?

Ok so I have heard a lot people saying they have had sex like at the age of 13 with their girlfriend and i was wondering how do they just go up to them and ask them if they want to have sex.I'm not gonna do it but I'm just curios about it.
 
i dunno. just see how far she'll let you go before she smacks you away.don't just be like 'hey lets do it' haha
