how on earth can they take such a smelly animal and have them walk out of their smelling like roses? i like scrubbedd my dog during his bath so it would get the stench out but it doesnt work. whats their secret?

and so they put on some kind of like..powder substance to absorbe odors? cuz when i pet him afterwards, i would get this weird feeling on my hands/fingers..idk.
and do they*

Well, i buy a spray to make my dogs smell good. I asked the groomer what did it and she told me that the soap and conditioner and spray help. dogs hair always feel like that, when i touch my dogs i get that feeling on my fingers. i never use the powder because i have Black dogs and they are going to look white so i stick with spray......plus it helps a lot. :)

Its dog spray, don't use your body spray because it might not be good for your dogs skin. you could buy it at any pet supply store.

I used to work as an assistant dog groomer and the shampoos and conditioners that they use are a professional grade, where the ones you buy on the shelf are not. They smell better and are often healthier for the dogs skin and fur. The conditioners are also usually scented. There are also perfumes designed for use on dogs that they used in the shop too.

Depends on the animal/breed as to what they use on the coat.

I use a spray shine on mine. Ever seen a shiny German Shepherd?
Their hair just doesn't seem to shine. So I spray him down after his bath and his black is blacker and he sparkles for awhile.

Most of the time when you wash at home people do not "wash" enough.
Lather the dog all over. Use tearless shampoo on the head.
Use your fingers or one of those rubber massagers to work the coat.
Completely wash the dog twice. Lather, rinse completely and repeat. You need to completely remove all loose hair, skin and dirt.
Apply conditioner to the coat after rinsing the coat and let it sit for several minutes. Rinse the conditioner out and towel dry as best as you can. Use a hair dryer to completely dry the coat and you will notice a huge difference.

They actually have about a million kinds of spray colognes for dogs. The shampoos and conditioners they use are scented too. I'm sure if you asked your groomer, they would tell you. ;)

every groomer has their own secret normally its just the powder they put on them after they groom them just for the purpose of the smell.

you can spray a lill perfume or a body Fragrance on it that's what we do to my pup after she takes a bath
